Fundraising: Water Well Campaign

10A Fundraising: Next term 10A will be hosting a Trash and Treasure sale on Sunday 6/11/2016 8am-1pm.

Trash and Treasure is like a car boot sale where donated goods will be sold and the proceeds will go towards building a well in Cambodia. There will be produce, second-hand goods, arts and crafts, bake sale and an all-day barbecue.

Ways you can get involved:

10B Fundraising: On Saturday 3rd September the 10B boys hosted a sausage sizzle at High Point Officeworks. Combined with fundraising completed at school this term the boys raised have raised $1774.60 for the Water Well Campaign. What a fantastic effort from our students. Special thanks to all families and teachers who came to visit and especially Mr Helou and Mr Necip for helping out on the day. The 10B boys are doing a fantastic job trying to open their own 10B water well in Cambodia. Fingers crossed they can achieve their goal!

Whole School Fundraising: High School students raised $133 for the Water Well Campaign at our first Character Dress up Day on the 1st September. We had a great day dressing up as our favourite book and we look forward to an even bigger Character Day next year!

Miss Sullivan sure saw the irony in marking Year 10 Macbeth essays while dressed up as the ghost of Shakespeare. He haunts both teachers and students alike!

English Department

Year 7 & 8 English

Veronica Silva

Dear Parents,

This term has been all about creative writing. The Year 7s students have had the opportunity to create a children's book about overcoming fear and they reflected on family values.

The Year 8s are still in the process of writing a short story their final copy will be due at the start of next term.

Their creativity and imagination is incredible I have enjoyed reading their work.

Well done to all my students!

Enjoy your break!

Ms Silva
